Quite regularly the discussion revives, usually when the nation’s temper is overheated because of a horrible crime, then the real crime fighters take advantage of the emotional state of the nation to stress the importance of a nationwide DNA bank. Notwithstanding how powerful this Orwellian anxiety dream, in general, by the average citizen, is rejected. Safety is here considered as the highest good, privacy as an unnecessary, overrated right. Overall trust in government and all governments to follow! As well as, ironically, in the safety of its own system, the database in which the DNA profiles will be stored.
